Thailand has its fair share of temples. The most well known ones are of course always on every traveller’s bucket list. I’m talking about temples such as Wat Pho, Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), Wat Arun and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. They are indeed quite impressive.

There are however lesser known but still worthwhile temples that deserve to been seen as well.

One of my favorite is Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon. This temple is located in Ayutthaya. It does not particularly stand out from the rest but still remains quite beautiful.

You can easily visit the whole complex within one or two hours so you can combine this visit with something else in the area.
