A man and his car

Cuba is a fascinating country. In some ways, it’s a bit like traveling back through time. This photograph was taken in the small town of Guardalavaca in the province of Holguin.

It was my third trip to this region and each time I would explore a bit further from the hotel. On this day, I borrowed a bicycle from the hotel and went out exploring. As I cycled my way through unknown roads, I came upon this gentleman and his wife. They seemed to be farmers. The seeing my camera, the man happily invited me to take a photo of his car.

This old classic was in an impeccable state. The Cubans are masters at maintaining these old classics. Whether it’s in the streets of Havana or on a farm in Guardalavaca, it’s always fun to see these historical machines.

I spent my childhood in the middle of the Indian Ocean on an island called Mahé. Today, Montreal is where I call home. I'm a hobbyist photographer who likes to document my travels. I hope this helps inspire your next adventure.
