Taking it slow

Nothing to see here. Just an Aldabra giant tortoise chilling in the backyard by the beach.

These tortoises are endemic to the Seychelles. The majority of them are located on the islands of the Aldabra atoll. However, there are still individuals who own some at home. Most tourists will not get to have an up close encounter with these creatures unless they have contacts. On the main island of Mahé, you can get a glimpse of them at the Botanical Gardens.

As a kid back in the days, I used to ride on these magnificent beasts. Whenever I wanted them to move, I would gently scratch them between the scales.

Christian

I spent my childhood in the middle of the Indian Ocean on an island called Mahé. Today, Montreal is where I call home. I'm a hobbyist photographer who likes to document my travels. I hope this helps inspire your next adventure.
