Imizamo Yethu Township

Imizamo Yethu, often referred to as IY or Mandela Park, is an informal settlement located in the Hout Bay Valley area of Cape Town, South Africa. This township, whose name in Xhosa means “Our Efforts,” is a testament to the resilience and community spirit of its residents.


I spent my childhood in the middle of the Indian Ocean on an island called Mahé. Today, Montreal is where I call home. I'm a hobbyist photographer who likes to document my travels. I hope this helps inspire your next adventure.
