I was pleasantly surprised by my first impressions of Lisbon on my first day. I must have taken a hundred photos of the trams but could not resist photographing them again on the second day. Going up and down the hills to explore Lisbon’s neighbourhoods on foot is an absolute joy.

Some trams
What does everyone do on their first visit in Lisbon? Yes, take the touristy photographs of the trams. The little trams add an interesting detail to the cityscape photos. I also suggest you hop on the icon #28 tram to explore the city.

Day’s end
Sao Jorge Castle (Castelo de Sao Jorge) is one of my favorite viewpoint in Lisbon and probably one of the best places to catch the sunset. There’s a small 10 Euros entry fee but it’s well worth it. Check the opening hours before as closing times vary according to the months/seasons.

Trams and flags
This is the Ascensor da Bica in Lisbon. This uphill street is quite popular with tourists. There are two trams that carry passengers from Rua de Sao Paulo to Largo do Calhariz. The tracks are lodged in between rows of houses and businesses. I noticed the Portuguese and Brazilian flags hanging and waited for each tram to pass by for the photo.

Lisbon rooftops
One of the best way to get a quick overview of a city is by finding a high vantage point. Luckily for me, in Lisbon I was located 3 minutes away from the Santa Justa Lift (Elevador de Santa Justa).
