Beauty can be found in our own backyard if pay attention. During the summer months, the city of Montreal will set up a ”beach-like” area in the Old Port, right at the base of the clock tower. When conditions are favourable, you can view some of the city’s most beautiful sunsets from this viewpoint.

Old Port kaleidoscope
Summers are short in Quebec. It’s best to enjoy every single day of it. A great way to experience the summer sunset in the city, is by heading to the Clock Tower in the Old Port. If the conditions are right, you’ll be treated with a kaleidoscope of colors during the last few minutes sun light.

Back alleys
Montreal has some very interesting back alleys or ruelles as we call them in French. There are neighborhoods that really go out of their way to give life to their ruelles. This one example taken somewhere on the Plateau Mont-Royal. Exploring this back alley briefly made me believe that I was somewhere else on Earth.

One ring to rule them all
The Montreal Carifiesta festival is an annual celebration of Caribbean culture that take place in Montreal. The event is usually held in July. The main even mostly consists of a parade down Sainte-Catherine street. People from various Caribbean countries wear colorful costumes and dance along to soca, calypso and other rhythm enticing music.
